It’s a great way for students to develop their physical fitness, hand-eye coordination, and leadership skills, all while enjoying the spirit of the game. School cricket encourages sportsmanship, fair play, and fosters a sense of camaraderie among teammates.

Rugby

At Laerskool Klipfontein we offer rugby from grade R to grade 7. During Pumaki rugby, the learners learn basic skills that will benefit them in the future. As soon as the learners are in grade 3, (0/9) they start playing competitive rugby. They apply the skills they learned in Pumaki rugby and our fantastic coaches and dads develop their skills even more and prepare them for 0/10 to 0/13 rugby. Our great rugby men have been taught good sportsmanship from an early age and they play a game with a diamond heart. Our rugby is one of the sports that excels at Klipfontein due to our male staff and willing parents. We can brag about two level two world rugby coaches, two level 1 world rugby coaches, one vice-chairman for Mpumalanga rugby, one Puma head coach for the Puma invitational team, one Nkangala Puma team manager, one Regional Referee and one 7’s Puma coach.

Pumaki Rugby

Pumaki rugby is a form of rugby developed to introduce the sport to children. It uses a smaller ball and field than standard rugby, and has six to eight players per team.

Rugby is not just a sport; it’s a way of life. When you play rugby, you learn important skills like teamwork, determination, sportsmanship, and respect. These skills will help you on the rugby field and in life. Rugby embraces everyone—whether you’re fast, smart, or big, there’s a position for you.
